The University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) is a central focus point in health care in Lower Saxony, currently admitting more than 55.000 in‐patients and 225.000 outpatients per year. The UMG is associated with 27 teaching hospitals and medical care sites and offers one BSc, two MSC, and 14 doctoral programmes.
With about 1.450 beds and 7.900 employees in 30 clinical departments, thereof 2.000 scientists and 3.700 students, the UMG represents one of the largest university hospitals in Germany, offering a fantastic environment for research, teaching and patient care.
The UMG is embedded in the scientific world-class hub of the Göttingen Campus, comprising the Medical Faculty, the German Centre for Neurodegenerative Disease (DZNE), the Biology and Natural Sciences departments of the Nord Campus, and four Max-Planck Institutes. Through this collaboration, the UMG has initiated and engaged in a number of projects and collaborative activities of multidisciplinary nature.
